The DISE Collective is pleased to announce the conferment of a Government of Canada Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Connection Grant.

The proposal was classed within the highest grouped ranking, receiving priority funding at or close to the maximum allowable amount. This bolsters the work of the DISE Collective and is another small step towards the societal and academic validation of ROSCAs in the face of criminalization, stigmatization, and misinformation.

This grant is made specifically to support events and activities. To that end the first ever ROSCA Symposium will be held at The University of Toronto

Presenting:

Worlding Feminist Economics Symposium: Political Art, ROSCAs and the Law
From April 29th 2026 through until May 1st, 2026, scholars, lawyers, ROSCA users, activists and artists be coming from across Canada, the USA, Trinidad, Denmark and France to The University of Toronto.

These grants support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. These events and activities represent opportunities to exchange knowledge and engage with participants on research issues they value. Events and outreach activities funded by a Connection Grant can often serve as a first step toward more comprehensive and longer-term projects.
