Dr. Caroline Shenaz Hossein is interviewed by the BBC concerning how financial access and security in America has become an increasingly pressing subject of discussion in 2020. "These systems are actually useful when we have bank systems that have a finite possibility," says Caroline Hossein, a professor of business and social studies at York University who studies roscas in communities in Canada. Dr. Hossein has written extensively on the subject, having a SSHRC grant for her ongoing work, as well as a short film. Even before the pandemic, the US was behind other rich countries when it comes to accessing money and credit.
